About

Adrianna Sherman became a midwife because she wanted to serve community members in their efforts to take control of their health, at every age and stage. “My mother and grandmother were influential in my desire to help others, and their own experiences informed my values around pregnancy, birth and women’s health,” Adrianna says. “They saw pregnancy and birth as natural occurrences and not something to be feared, and they really exemplified a holistic approach to aging and menopause. These values are a natural fit in the world of midwifery.”

Adrianna went to school for massage therapy right after high school and then enrolled in nursing school with the express desire to become a midwife later in life.

“I really thrive when helping others to feel better and take care of themselves. I love so many elements of this profession. But I would say it's a good day when someone feels their concerns are being heard, or when I can provide an environment to help them learn something about their health, or to help them define their values around a particular healthcare choice.”

When she is not working with her patients, Adrianna enjoys baking, surfing and anything outdoors in nature
